MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

•Carry out equipment inspections according to a detailed checklist and report discrepancies to the Mechanical Foreman and/or Engineer immediately
•Ensure that repairs are done in the most cost effective way possible and to the appropriate engineering standards.
•Complete fault finding on systems during breakdowns and repair the problem to keep downtime to a minimum
•Ensure maximum availability of the mechanical equipment, compressors, civil maintenance and provide support at times for electrical and instrumentation equipment
•Be available after hours to perform standby duties as and when required
•Participate in continuous improvement and optimization of maintenance methods.
•Ensure that spares are available and that spares are regularly repaired or audited for availability and proper storage
•Ensure that all tools supplied by Twinsaver are handled and maintained with care
•Ensure that the health and safety of employees, plant, equipment and buildings are maintained in accordance to the health, safety and environmental policies of the company
•Comply with all Twinsaver policies and procedures in all activities
•Attend to training as and when prescribed
•Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained and adhered to

REQUIREMENTS

•N3 Engineering
•Recognized Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical fitting in a FMCG manufacturing environment
•Knowledge and experience on equipment such as conveyors, chain and belt drives, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, bearings, clutches, pneumatics, maintenance techniques, lubrication, machining and welding
•Basic Knowledge of Engineering Principles (Mechanical and Electrical)
