PAINTINGS, LOGISTICS AND SHIPPING ADMINISTRATOR + SENIOR SILVERWARE SPECIALIST: BOTH IN CAPE TOWN

Two positions at Stephan Welz & Co.
1. PAINTINGS, LOGISTICS AND SHIPPING ADMINISTRATOR: CAPE TOWN
The successful candidate will join a team of multi-disciplinary specialists who facilitate the purchase and sale of art and collectables. They will have the opportunity to source, evaluate, research, catalogue, consign and facilitate ceramics sales. Under the guidance of senior specialists and seasoned auctioneers they will learn from some of the best in the South African auctioneering industry. They will also interact with the elite, enthusiasts and dealers in art and collectables.
If you have the qualities listed below, then we want to meet you:

  • Relevant Arts Degree or Diploma or equivalent experience & track record
  • Good knowledge and an enthusiastic interest in Art
  • Good knowledge in history of art
  • Previous experience in Art valuation / assessment would be advantageous
  • Stock control and logistics experience
  • Being able to speak Afrikaans would be preferable
  • Strongly client centric
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills – both written & verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Candidates interested in this position must also be prepared to work overtime, be able to work according to strict deadlines, must have their own vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Furthermore, they must be willing to travel outside their area of work from time to time.

  • Previous auctioneering or relevant experience in Silverware valuation / assessment
  • Good knowledge and an enthusiastic interest in Silverware
  • Good knowledge in history of Silverware
  • Being able to speak Afrikaans would be preferable
