TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE
CONSULTANT : TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE (Grade 8)

The successful individual is to drive Technology enhanced Learning (TeL) innovations in the curriculum. This will be achieved through development and monitoring of TeL activities and resources; training of students and staff on the integration of various technologies into teaching and learning; and attending to queries as well as calls for support by both staff and students
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Design and implement TeL resources and activities
- Train academics and students in the use of TeL technologies
- Advise academics and students on responsible, judicious and strategic use of TeL for the enhancement of learning
- Attend to queries and calls for support by both academics and students
- Liaise with academics and other role players such as ICT
- Conduct research and evaluate the impact of TeL into teaching and learning
- Market TLC services and activities in the various technology platforms
- Maintain the TLC website through periodic updates
- Teach Web-based Learning module at postgraduate diploma level
Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:
- A Masters degree, preferably in Education, or any other qualification relevant to the post
- Training and experience in the use of a Learning Management System, and/or any other Technology enhanced Learning tool
- Three (3) years’ experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education
- Training and experience in the SI Model and/or any other Peer Assisted Learning programme
- Evidence of professional development in the various areas of teaching and learning in higher education
- Excellent facilitation, communication and inter-personal skills
- Well-developed organisational, supervisory and administrative skills
- Good research and report writing skills
- A high level of proficiency in MS Programmes. Knowledge, VLE administration, Web 2.0 technologies
