Salary: R408 499 – R507 624 pa (All-inclusive package)
UFH Libraries invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Circulation Librarian in Alice Library.
THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION IS:
To provide effective supervision and administration of circulation service and ensure efficient quality lending services that will meet the information needs of all library customers.
THE INCUMBENT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Management of Circulation Department
- Assist in planning, marketing, monitoring and evaluating of the Circulation Department
- Assist in updating and formulation of policies and procedures pertaining to circulation services
- Organize the processes of the Circulation Department and provide quality service.
- Maintenance of the Sierra millennium circulation module
- View outstanding holds. Take action for problem holds.
- Read patron requests and clear the files of book requests by activating the holds electronically for material to be put “on hold” for patrons then clear both files.
- Do overrides weekly.
- Clean up and update course reserves.
- Check and clear items no longer missing.
- View, print/ or export the fines paid file
- Clear the hold shelf and remove expired holds
- Send messages to users with overdue library materials
- Conduct performance evaluations of staff

- B.Bibl Degree
- At least 3 years relevant experience
Competencies:
- Management Skills
- Possess knowledge of Sierra Circulation module
- Good knowledge of Circulation Services Policies
- Knowledge of multi-campus model
- Strong human resource and conflict management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
