5th Annual Onkgopotse Tiro Memorial Lecture: ‘Never Say Die: Africa Must Change’

The University of Limpopo will host the 5th Annual Onkgopotse Tiro Memorial Lecture to celebrate the life and legacy of former political activist, teacher,  of the South African Students Organisation, and Black Consciousness Movement leader, Abram Onkgopotse Tiro. He is best remembered for his bravery speech criticising the Bantu Education Act of 1953 during a graduation ceremony at Turfloop, in 1972.
The lecture will be presented by renowned Kenyan Law Professor, Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba, who is the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya School of Law. He is a notable professor of Public Law and Founding Dean of Kabarak University’s School of Law. He has lectured law at various universities locally and internationally. He has massive footprints as the Advocate of the High Courts of Kenya and Tanzania.
