INTRODUCTION

We have a great opportunity for a SHEQ Coordinator based at Modderfontein. The core is to ensure compliance, verification audits in terms of the divisions’ audit protocol which is designed to complement our customer’s requirements, legal registers and the Division’s policies and procedures

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12 with a relevant SHEQ qualification/studying towards one
  • MS Office experience and efficiency with strong administration skills
  • Sound knowledge of OHASA 18001, ISO 9001 and 14001 Management Systems, COID Act, relevant Road Traffic legislation and SANS Standards
  • Possess leadership qualities with the ability to promote team work and cooperation and create a climate for motivation
  • Handle general queries regarding HSE issues within the working environment
  • Ability to work independently under pressure meeting contract and customer deadlines
  • An understanding of processes relating to Accident & Incident investigation, reporting, recording and application of remedial action
  • Fairly good knowledge of the Transport Industry will be a definite advantage
  • Knowledge of Entropy will be an added advantage
Job Specification
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform predefined internal audits and assist with external audits within your area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identify the risks and corrective actions that will ensure compliance with the Divisions Continual Improvement Plan and contractual agreements
  • Ensure complies with the contractual agreement ( SHEQ )
  • Utilization of Integrated Management System, Entropy system
  • Monitor the site and or operational activities / processes to ensure compliance with the Division’s policies, procedures, legal, customer and company’s requirements
  • Verify, Safety Committee meeting minutes are signed off by depot / contract manager and Regional General Manager with actions recorded and managed in Entropy
  • Verify, Weekly safety ( Toolbox) meetings held, staff attendance recorded
  • Vehicle fleet complies with all legal requirements, COF and Licence
  • Accident reports are completed accurately and timeously in accordance with company policy
  • Vehicle fleet is maintained in accordance with manufacturers specifications
  • Verify, Health & Safety / OHSAS 18001 legislation and procedures are adhered to.
  • Review OHASA status of Scott safe audit actions
  • Site / Operational management carries out regular risk assessments and regularly reviews the divisional risk assessments
  • Site / Operational continuous improvement plans are being reviewed monthlyVerify SHEQ management Review meetings are being held and documented as agreed
  • Review of customer audit findings with remedial action plans circulated / implemented
  • Site Training programme managed and regularly updated
  • Ensure that  Care initiatives are being measured
