University of Cape Town Application 2024 :To apply to the University of Cape Town , you need the documents below :

1) A certified copy of the green bar coded ID

2) Proof of payment of any relevant application fees

3) Certified copy of grade 11 results and any latest grade 12 results

FYI: South Africans learners wishing to apply online will need a working email address and an ID number. Foreign learners wishing to apply will need to have their passport number.

We are accepting applications for admission in 2024 until 31 July for all undergraduate programmes.

Applicants who need financial assistance must submit their applications on the NSFAS online application system. All applications close on 30 November 2024. NSFAS applications must be completed at http://www.nsfas.org.za/content/how-to-apply.html.

POSTGRADUATE APPLICANTS

Postgraduate programmes containing coursework mostly close on 31 October, with the exception of a few programmes and faculties which start to close from May onward. Please refer to the 2024 Directions for Postgraduate Applicants for the relevant closing dates.

Applications for research-only postgraduate programmes do not close. Please select the year in which you wish to start your programme when applying.

SEMESTER STUDY ABROAD (SSA) APPLICANTS

The SSA programme is offered to international students who are registered at their home university and plan to study abroad at UCT for a semester or two. Upon completion of the UCT semester course-load, the credits can be transferred to their degree at their home university. SSA credits do not count toward a UCT qualification.

SSA closing dates for 2024 and 2024 admission
2024 first semester applications opened on 1 August and closed on 30 November 2024.
2024 second semester applications opened on 7 January 2024 and close 30 April 2024.
2024 first semester applications open on 5 August 2024 and close on 31 October 2024.
2024 second semester applications open on 13 January 2024 and close on 30 April 2024.

Applying direct or through a partnership

Students have an option of three routes to access the UCT Semester Study Abroad programme. Different fee structures and regulations may apply according to which route you use to access the programme.

Your options are:

Apply directly

Interested students are welcome to apply directly to the programme. Liaise with your university’s international office for details around your institution’s requirements.  For more information on the UCT SSA programme, email ssa@uct.ac.za for assistance.

Apply through a partner university agreement

UCT has signed mobility agreements with a range of universities worldwide. To find out if we have an agreement with your university you can contact your institution’s international office, or download a full list of our mobility partner universities here.

Application Form

Certain performing arts and practical courses could have portfolio requirements. Fine Art and Architecture will require a CD portfolio
of relevant studio work together with the application submission. The applicant’s portfolio must be posted/couriered promptly to the
International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO) when the applications open, to facilitate the assessment of the portfolio.

The applicant completes the fields as indicated, compulsory fields are marked with an *.
A help section is provided next to the heading and provides more information about that particular step.
When all the required entries have been completed for a step, no missing information will be confirmed when a green tick appears in
the box next to the step on the right-hand side of the online application.
If there is missing information, click on ‘Identify Missing Information’ for the details.

Registration Date

The online application form for the Semester Study Abroad programme must be completed before the relevant closing date, paperbased application forms are no longer accepted.
