An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Jessievale Sawmill. Reporting to the Production Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the department efficiently in order to achieve production targets and budgets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading his/her team in order to create and maintain a high performance culture. He/she will further be responsible for ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained and that all tasks are performed in accordance with the OHS Act and company policies and procedures. The Foreman will further liaise with the engineering team regarding mechanical problems and maintenance schedules. Requirements for this position include:
- Grade 12 or equivalent, with SATAS certification (Grading Certification)
- National Diploma/ Degree in Wood Technology/Wood Science
- At least 3-5 years relevant production experience in an unionised environment
- Experience managing and leading production team
- Experience in both wetmill and drymill production processes is required
- Energetic, ethical and honest
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- Able and willing to work according to a shift system
