The Department of Transport is offering A Work based Integrated Learning Programme for unemployed candidates endeavouring in attaining a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, in the following geographical areas:

Minimum requirement: • N6 Level in Mechanical Engineering studies • A letter of In-Service Training from the TVET College requesting for practical training in order to graduate. The letter may not be older than three months • Subjects: Mathematics, Strength of Materials & Structure, Power Machines and Mechanotechnics.
Other skills/competencies: • Enjoy working with your hands • Initiative • Disciplined, self-motivated and committed to the programme. Short listed candidates will be required to undergo the following prior to final selection: • Panel Interview • Certificate of fitness (Doctor’s certificate).
Duration: Training will take place in a workshop environment, for a period of 18 months. Department of Transport is an equal opportunity employer. Pre-screening, profile testing, medical and security clearance form part of the recruitment and selection process. Employment of the successful candidates is subject to the aforementioned criteria above. Preference will be given to candidates who resides within the identified geographical areas. Proof of residence is a requirement.
