SUBMISSION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND CULTURE ON THE “ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE WHITE PAPER”
A key mandate of VANSA is to monitor, research and contribute to the South African policy framework in such cases that it affects the Visual Arts. The New White Paper for the arts is the most important policy and is being drafted for the first time in 20 years.
VANSA made a submission last year to the Department of Arts and Culture. You can read our submission here.
VANSA’s submission is based on identifying achievable, implementable and clear actions that will have significant impact on the Visual Arts and its practitioners’ lives. The submission also includes limited input on the broader white paper where major concerns were necessarily addressed for the better implementation of the paper.
